Personality Patient. Level -Headed. Intuitive. Quick thinking. These were the things that she was described as by her mother. She takes control of situations that are at most times hard to handle, and turns them positive. She almost never loses her cool, and snaps at people. There are rare occasions but that is just her. She Understands things almost naturally as they are meant to be, and that comes in handy some times. The best part of her is that she can come up with quick solutions that will help with anything, and everything. She likes to look at the present so she doesn’t have to think of the past and future right away she wants to live every moment, as the best, for the most part. She is sincere most of the time unless you bring up unsavory topics, such as her family. She doesn’t have one anymore and that hurts her more than she ever lets on. The moment you actually get her to snap from the calm and collective girl that she is, is the day you have woken up to possibly one of the worst nightmares of your life. HISTORY Fiona Sage Rutland was born on a very bright day. It was May 22nd, a day like no other in her parent’s book. Before you get to know Fiona, you need to understand her parents. They met in 1982 at some big named University they were both attending, the pair going for jobs in the medical field. This is where Fiona gets her love of helping others. Her parents had a strong backing in her growing up. She wasn’t following in their footsteps because they wanted her to, she was doing it, because that was what she wanted, and you will learn later on why. But when they met it was like love at first sight. Married by 1985 and graduated a year before Fiona was born everything was going to their plans. Especially, Fiona whom was born into the family that was built on love, trust and understanding. While Fiona was growing up she was lonely most of the time. Not even the baby sitters or nannies could keep her content with television, art projects or anything remotely close to that. But she was a bright girl and had everything figured out before people knew what was going to happen. She had chased countless babysitters away and she was okay with it. It was hell to raise a child in the throws of chaos, but they did it. By the time she was six years of age her mother had brought in another daughter by the name of Riley. Riley was the prettiest baby Fiona had ever seen and she never let her sister too far out of sight. The first nickname she got from her little sister was Fi, because she couldn’t say Fiona all the way and Fi loved it. She was absolutely close to her sister and knew that devastation would follow if anything ever happened to the bright eyed little girl that Fiona cared deeply about. But that is to say, things don’t always go to plan. What Fiona didn’t know was that before her mother went to medical school, before she met her father, and before her life became perfect was that her mother had Leukemia when she was in her pre-teen years. Though she had went into remission she never thought it would be pertinent to tell anyone about her battle with the deadly cancer. Everything was fine until Fiona turned 14. Her first couple of years of high school sucked because she was worried about her mother, and if she were to survive this second battle. She knew, she knew that when cancer came back, it came back fighting twice as hard. But her mother was a trooper and so was she. She stayed by her family’s side even getting the best grades possible as they went through the battle together. Because her mother fought to stay in remission the doctors wanted her to do three rounds of chemo at different levels and watching that kill her mom she couldn’t take it. But she stayed, because she knew her mother needed her. She was 16 by the time the cancer was completely gone from her system and everything was perfect for her mother to go back to work, and everyone to get back on the right track. That was the week after her 16th birthday. Her mother, wanting to celebrate took her and Riley out to dinner. Their father at work performing a lifesaving surgery so he couldn’t go; though they did order him something so he would have it when he returned home. But they didn’t know that life was going to be shaken up so much in a matter of moments. On the drive back home, leftovers in hand, the worse thing possible happened. It flipped Fiona’s world around. A drunk driver crashed into the driver’s side of the car. The impact so severe, glass shattered everywhere, in and out of the car. A large shard pierced Fiona’s left side, while one was right in her mother’s jugular. Fiona had passed out. Riley at only the bright age of ten was killed on impact as it tossed her right out of the window, skidding across the road. The seat belt had broken in to pieces. The car she later found out was on recall for spotty seat belts. Fiona was in the hospital for three days. One because on top of needing the stitches she had a severe concussion; and they didn’t want to send her home without proper treatment. Two because they didn’t want her to stress herself over the fine tunes of the funeral for her sister and mother. Even if it meant they would never be seen again. Her father had come in once and told her that her sister and mother had died. Though, she felt as if her mother and sister were still there, somewhere. They had their funerals about a week later seeing as Fiona could barely move as it was. The area that was pierced by the shard had about 50 stitches and the pain flared up by just walking. After that nothing she seemed to do made her father realize she was still there. She didn’t know what to think. Maybe it was because she resembled her mother so much, her long flowing blonde hair, or the way her eyes changed the slightest of color. She understood that her father was lost, broken and missing her but she needed him too. This is where she probably grew colder, in her age. She was on her own for the rest of her growing up. She missed how her dad would call her Fire-Fly because she lit up everyone’s night. She graduated high school on time and everything seems to be going fine, even if her father didn’t show up. She had moved closer to the best school she could and she was so proud of herself and she knew that if she could be anything she could be a Doctor that healed the wounded; she could save so many more lives. She could hold onto her mother just a little bit longer. She made some friends but they made stupid decisions and got killed in the process, though she always tried to save them. It never worked out for her so to speak. When she was around 23 years of age she got horrific news, about her father. He had gone missing. He had gotten into taking back the bottle and gambling and she was not surprised. She knew that he was spiraling down and in that moment she dropped a lot of things and when out to help search for him. But it was pointless, especially since he didn’t want to be found. He never did, and she didn’t blame him. His world crashed around him and she was his only family. But at this point even she couldn’t stand him. When she was 24 she called off the searches because she rather is in school and getting her degree. She decided that she would live day by day hoping something would come up in her mind about her father. Even if it meant he ended up in lands he should not have traveled. It was a pointless battle for her, her mind and conscious going at it all the time. She went back to school. She wasn’t going to be a drop out, have to pay loans back. It was ridiculous. She knew all the places he went to, knew it all. But why wouldn’t it come to her? Because he went there with mother, that was why. It opened wounds that were healing in her heart. She wasn’t ready for it yet. She had a few break downs as she went through school. By the time she was about to turn 24 she finally got to the point of school where she would intern, or shadow the job she would want to work the most. Thus this is what she is currently doing in the best hospital in town and she is really happy that her life is turning around for the better. But her heart is still haunted by the fact that danger likes to follow her, like a ghost in the night. By 25 she was a resident in the hospital making her rounds, and doing way more hands on learning. This all only found in the colorful place of Kinsale.
